About

I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. For approximately 20 years, close to Lake Bistineau was my home where I raised two brilliant boys. The lake wild life is a constant fascination to me. I am a self-taught artist, and the talent runs deep in my family. I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration as well as a real estate license. Currently, I am married and live in Bossier City, LA with our two dogs, a few gold fish and six chickens. I spend a lot of time with my art or in the prolific raised gardens of my backyard. Sales of my work began to take off, now thousands of happy customers have purchased my art online or in person. This includes sales abroad in other countries. Local sales are enjoyable because I get to see the reaction when unwrapping their new hand painted commission. Creating art is very rewarding and the raw emotion it produces can be passed on to many.

Artist Statement

I find it awe inspiring that everyone can see things differently according to their perceptions of the world. That is why I like to paint things the way that I see them. Often times people ask me to draw them or paint something for them. Sometimes my feelings bleed over into my artwork. I have always had a fond appreciation for dogs, for example, so when I paint them, I fall in love with the dog and the love shines in the painting. When I paint, I am in my own space. I am free to choose the techniques, brushes, mediums, or lack thereof to express myself. There are suddenly no rules and I don’t live inside a box. Reality ceases to exist. My joy comes from creating something from a blank canvas. I believe that my work has significance and relevance because many of my subjects are relatable. Sometimes the works can spark a curiosity but the majority of my works are faintly familiar. An old barn, a field of yellow flowers, or simply a watering can full of forgotten flowers. The works can be part of all of our history at some point, but it is singularly my own vision placed carefully onto canvas. Imagine if we all painted the same object, how different they would be.
