Applications Now Open for the 2025 Public Art Residency at Makerpark! Makerspace NYC is accepting applications for our 2025 Public Art Residency at Makerpark in Staten Island! Each year, up to 6 artists or artist teams are selected to create an outdoor public art installation, which will be on display in Makerpark for one year. This is a unique opportunity for artists to gain experience in creating large-scale artwork suitable for public spaces. We’ll provide support throughout the process, including some assistance with fabrication and installation. No prior public art experience is required—we welcome artists of all backgrounds and skill levels. What We’re Looking For: Creativity: We want to see your ideas and your vision for an outdoor, public art piece. Feasibility: A key factor in selection will be whether we believe we can help bring your project to life within the allotted timeframe.
