Originally from Houston, Kathy grew up in Greater Cincinnati with a short stint on the west coast of Florida. She has recently established roots in Louisiana's unique landscapes to be closer to family. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Northern Kentucky University and an MBA from Thomas More University. She is a self-taught artist working primarily with the rich textures of oils. Her work focuses on still-life and landscapes. She is currently immersed in the exciting process of developing her distinctive style, drawing inspiration from everyday life experiences. Her paintings are a testament to her commitment to lifelong learning and to her courage in reinventing herself.

Artist Statement

My work explores the quiet presence of everyday moments. Working in oils, I draw influence from traditional painters and approach the easel with a strong commitment to craftsmanship. Composition, value, color, and deliberate brushwork guide each piece. Though rooted in observation, I am less interested in recording a scene than in refining it. By softening edges and simplifying form, I reduce visual noise and focus on the essential relationships within the painting: light, shadow, structure, and atmosphere. The result is work that invites the viewer to pause and find a sense of connection in the beauty of the everyday.
