Artist Statement
I'm inspired by Wendell Berry's prose and poetry, Aretha Franklin's voice, Ansel Adam's compositions, the Psalter's earnest prayers, Emily Dickinson's deep well of work, Annie Dillard's existential musings, Eugene Peterson's wisdom, my husband's quick wit, and the way the sun feels on my shoulders. Deep down in my bones, I feel an absolute compulsion to capture stories and preserve moments, crafting meaning and metaphor out of the messiness of life.
