Artist Statement
Art is a language for the soul. Ever since I was a child, I've been moved by works of art, whether they be musical, visual, literary, or cultural. it's as if there's a place in my soul that can only speak the dialects of painting, sculpture, prose, or fashion. Art has now become a way for me to focus on giving that piece of my heart an outlet that I had shut down earlier in life. As I've grown older, I've learned the value of practicing presence, and art is a good place to do just that. Mixing colors and applying paint demands that I focus my attention on the present, and photography requires me to stop and notice the beauty around me that I might otherwise have missed.
